Minnesota Excellence in Learning Academy (MELA)

I am so grateful that my kids are attending this school. Ms. Paula and her crew are all loving and caring staff. They do their best to help my children learn in every way possible, from special education, etc. To the teachers: thank you all for the endless love and support you provide our children each day!

My 2 kids have been attending MELA since kindergarten and pre-school. This is their second year there and they just love it there. The teachers and staff are all dedicated and attentive to the students’ needs. MELA has just been awesome especially since the pandemic has started. The online education is very well structured; even though the kids don’t physically go to school, they still feel like they go to school. Even though the school is 25 minutes away from our residence, we decided to let them stay there instead of moving them to another school that was just 4 minutes away from us, due to the facts listed above in addition to the diversity in the students, teachers and staff body. Above all, the communication between parents and staff/teachers is always on point. During the car parade, son’s kindergarten teacher went out of her scheduled route just to come visit him. That shows how dedicated the teachers are and some will go beyond just to ensure that their students are valuable to them. We are blessed to have our kids attend MELA and we salute and appreciate the teachers and staff. You guys are doing a great job!

My kids are thriving at this school. I love the teachers and school administration - great communication and assistance at all times. Definitely very hands on with the kids and ensuring they are learning and growing. They have the small groups where the kids are assessed individually and challenged to grow & learn. They have passion projects the kids love and always look forward to.

First year of kindergarten and preschool this year and my kids LOVE school. They come home every night excited to go back! The teachers are great and school has great communication.

I love staff here at Mela. Each time I had a concern the staff was quick to respond and follow up with the situation. I also like how in the morning time at drop off for my son, that staff is greeting us with a good morning each time and always, always tells me to have a great day. I like the class dojo communication because it is nice to ask a question without having to call and I can also check in with my son teacher to see how things are going. I just want to say thank you for helping my son grow academically.
